FOOT CLINIC
Good Companions members can have foot care by a podiatrist who visits the club regularly. Foot clinic dates are published in our newsletter. Call the club at 403-249-6991 to book your appointment (and please be sure to call us if you need to cancel). The fee is $10 to the podiatrist and $3 drop-in fee to the club.
TEA & CONVERSATION
Relax and enjoy tea, coffee and treats while a guest speaker shares information useful for you. You're invited to stay and chat afterward about what you've learned and share personal experiences. Topics include: fire safety, home safety, fraud protection, finances, government assistance, future planning and health related issues. Tea & Conversation is held at the club on the second and fourth Friday afternoons of the month (excluding July and August) from 1:00 - 3:00pm. Drop-in fee is $4.00 and includes tea, coffee and snacks.
CAPSULE OF LIFE
The Calgary EMS Foundation, along with the Calgary EMS, runs a program that provides people with the means to assemble a capsule that contains all of their health and contact information, and is then placed in their fridge. This information will provide EMS with important knowledge about the individual in trouble if they are in a state where they cannot communicate. This is important for those living alone, seniors, the chronically ill and kids under the watch of a sitter. To get your capsule of life visit the Co-op pharmacies in Calgary and Airdrie or call the EMS Foundation at
(403) 955-9550. For more information visit www.emsfoundation.ca
